My name is Andreas and I am a postdoctoral researcher with strong computational background and primary focus on studying apoptosis in cancer cells. Additional research areas include mathematical modelling of signalling pathways such as the unfolded protein response. I am currently working at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin as part of a multi-international and –disciplinary group. I am an enthusiastic data scientist, bioinformatician, software engineer and avid problem-solver.

As bioinformatician, I bridge computational biology with experimental research to drive cancer therapy and to deepen our understanding of biological systems. This comprises collaboration with experimentalists and clinicians to collect and harmonize data, and to design experiments to calibrate and test computational predictions. My full professional proficiency covers, but is not limited to, discovery data analysis, biostatistics, data mining, machine learning, deep learning, clustering, spatial analysis, high-throughput biological datasets, mathematical models, algorithms, databases and software development. Latter include programming in Java, C/C++, R, Python, Perl, Bash and others.

We're flooding people with information. We need to feed it through a processor. A human must turn information into intelligence or knowledge.Grace Hopper

Data Scientist

Data can help reshape the future and I find myself loving the thrill of diving into challenging analysis. My first goal is that my research leaps beyond expectations and to deliver results to a high standard.

Bioinformatician

I have a strong passion for Life Science, with experience in medical research and the ability to breakdown and clearly define problems. I am highly-skilled and experienced in applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to data, and in combining analytic methods with advanced data visualizations.

Problem Solver

I look upon problems as exciting challenges with an unmatched curiosity to learn and grow with new challenges. It is plain fun to gain new perspectives and think outside the box.

Software Engineer

I am an experienced software engineer with attention to details. With my knowledge about of software development life cycle, algorithms and high-performance implementations, I thrive to deliver simple, reliable and elegant solutions.
